GYM
As exercise plays an important part in everyone’s life this is no different for the blind and visually impaired. As science has progressed the link between health benefits and exercise has been confirmed. Being part of a social group of this kind plays an important part in the independence training of our clients.
LOFOB has a modest gym that serves all our boarders, clients who are enrolled for their independence training and other blind and visually impaired persons who would like to be part of the programme. The gym programme is set by a biokineticist and implemented by community volunteers. Our volunteers have ensured that the programme remains successful and continues to grow.
Our gym class takes place twice a week and is always a hive of activity. The progress of individual participants is evaluated every 3 months to ensure progress is being made with regards to their personal fitness goals. We are currently working on upgrading our existing facility to accommodate more individuals.
If you are interested in participating, volunteering, being a sponsor or donor email us at: info@lofob.org.za
