VENUES FOR HIRE
The Isaac Jacobs Hall, seats up to 300 people in a meeting setting. The hall is available to the community for minor functions such as weddings, anniversaries, birthdays etc. The hall has a separate preparation kitchen. Notwithstanding the above, the management may negotiate a more favorable fee for special uses such as UNISA. The full hiring fee must be paid as confirmation of booking. Hiring fees are not refundable in the event of cancelations less than one month before the booked event date. Provisional bookings will only be entered on payment of non-refundable booking fee. Provisional bookings are valid for seven (7) days only. Chairs; trestles; cutlery and crockery are not included in the hiring fee. The onus is on the applicant to ensure the booking is confirmed. We will not telephone to check if hall is still required. After seven (7) days the provisional booking will be deemed to have expired.
Exceptions:
All organisations, of which LOFOB is part of, such as the local community forums, use the hall at no charge and a donation is welcomed. Schools that support LOFOB are also allowed free use of the hall with a voluntary donation. All LOFOB local committees use all LOFOB facilities free. Staff will be allowed to use the facilities at no charge for themselves and their immediate households and parents. As a goodwill measure LOFOB Executive/Finance & General Purposes committee members will be allowed free use of the facilities. Community organisations and churches who support LOFOB may be allowed a discount of up to 25% at the discretion of the Director of Administration. For funeral teas a donation of not less than R100, 00 will be accepted. All payment to be made in advance and is non-refundable.
