LOFOB is a facility primarily for the use of blind people and the LOFOB organisation. When not required for such purposes, the Hall and other meeting rooms may be made available to other community groups or person.
The venue will not be available to any commercial enterprise.
The venue is not suitable, and will not be made available for general public meetings of a party-political nature. Political parties may have closed committee meetings and workshops on the premises.
Every application to use the hall shall be accompanied by a non-refundable booking fee. The hall may be booked provisionally at the discretion of the management provided that the non-refundable booking fee is paid. The onus is on the applicant to secure confirmed booking within 21 days. No entry will be made if the booking fee is not paid. We will not telephone to check if hall is still required. After 21 days the provisional booking will be deemed to have expired.
All charges are payable in advance to confirm booking.
The hall will be handed over to the user by a LOFOB official, who will together with the user, inspect the property for damages and cleanliness. Any damages, which may be found, must be recorded immediately. After the function the LOFOB official and the user must again inspect the property and record any new damage to the property.
The hire of the hall entitles the user to use the hall, toilets off the hall foyer and the hall car park. The rest of the property and grounds are STRICTLY OUT OF BOUNDS.
The kitchen may be hired separately at a charge.
Plastic chairs and crockery may be hired separately from LOFOB.
The user shall take all steps necessary for the proper supervision of all guests at the hall with a view to ensuring acceptable behaviour, preventing damage to property and adhere to the rules.
No dancing or loud music allowed.
The non-fulfilment or breach of any of the above conditions by the user shall entitle LOFOB to cancel any booking forthwith. In such event all amounts paid by the user shall be forfeited.
The LOFOB Centre is a NON-SMOKING ENVIRONMENT. Visitors are expected to refrain from smoking inside the building.
In consideration to our staff, we request applicants using the facility at night to ensure that their activities cease at no later than 23h00 (11:00pm). Users must agree to abide by this rule STRICTLY. A surcharge of R50-00 per hour or part thereof is payable after 23h00.
The user will be required to provide transport for our assistant/caretaker after the function.
Motor vehicles in the Hall parking area should be parked with its front facing the building to prevent dirtying of walls by exhaust smoke. Vehicles must be parked in the parking bays only and in such a way that access to LOFOB’s offices is not blocked. No vehicle must be parked beyond the NO PARKING SIGN. Kindly instruct your guests or suppliers not to park on the brick paving.
Failure to abide by the above conditions will result in the deposit being forfeited.
It is the user’s responsibility to ensure that guests are informed of the relevant conditions pertaining to the use of the facility.
Hired equipment has to be collected by 09h00 on the first working day after an event. LOFOB is a working centre with visually impaired people on our premises.
